After the Northwest trip, I slowly got into routine again. I visited the beaches a few more times before it got "cold" (75 degrees and overcast). It also rained for the first time since I've arrived although it only lasted about 5 minutes! One day I was shopping around Fremantle with a couple of friends and visited a Didgeridoo shop. We received a quick lesson and were allowed to try any Didgeridoo in the shop. Of course, we chose the largest ones and attempted to play. It was much more difficult than I imagined. I had to to try and vibrate my lips at the same time as making high and low pitches at the same time as saying words like "wakadoo." I wasn't very good. I considered purchasing one but then didn't think I could get it home seeing as how it wouldn't fit in my suitcase!

| Hilary's Boat Harbour |
Last Saturday, my roommates and I visited Hilary's boat Harbour. This is a shopping center built completely on a dock on top of the water. It is organized so that the man shops for a yacht while the woman shops for jewelry. It was a very nice place but very expensive! we also visited Yanchep National Park. We visited caves as well as wandered the grounds. The caves were very cool, and loaded with calcite. We also saw more captive koalas as well as wild Kangaroos and birds such as Cockatoos. The first Kangaroo we spotted was on the edge of the woods. We followed it into the bushes and it led us to 10 more Kangaroos. They were very cute although a bit weary of us. I got close enough to get a good picture but then left them alone.

I am in the process of planning trips for the second and third study breaks. During the second I plan to do activities in the Perth area such as visit Rottnest Island (home of quokkas) and Penguin Island. I also plan to visit the Margaret River with my roommates and a couple other friends. Margaret River is located a few hours south of Perth and is home to many beaches with gigantic waves, there are often surfing competitions held here. During the third study break, I am going to New Zealand. We have already booked our plane tickets and I am very excited!
Time is going so quickly here, I can't believe that the next study break is in two weeks! I also can't believe that my trip is already halfway over! I really feel that I am making the most of my time here and so far it was been a blast!
